  • "Dear Echo, why has my previous posting been removed? It was factually correct and not abusive in any way so I will repeat it.
    .
It is highly unusual for our professsional fishermen to do things like this, it is usually the amateur rod and line merchants who get themselves into trouble (the RNLI or HM Coastguard can confirm this).
    .
It is reported elsewhere that Mr Smith said he didn't judge his speed right and he admitted that he wasn't looking where he was going even though he was so close to the pier. That does not sound like the actions of a sober professional, or a decent amateur seaman, so I commented that maybe this was a case of a drunken sailor.
    .
What is wrong with that? I suspect that the Echo's resident internet trolls - probably Asbo or E-Types - had a hand in my posting being removed.
    .
Since when has the Echo removed postings just because someone doesn't agree with the opinion being expressed?"
