Fire in public toilets under investigation

ARSONIST are suspected of torching a ladies toilet.

Firefighters were called to a fire in the ladies toilets at Shoeburyness Park, Elm Road, Shoeburyness, at 11.59am on Saturday.

Two fire crews attended.

An Essex Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “Crews wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire by 12.45pm.

”The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, the fire service and police will carry out an investigation.”

If it is kids take them to a burns unit and show them what could happen, then take them back to the scene of the crime and make them help with the repairs, go to their parents and force them to pay the cost of the work.

If you are referring to the obscene scribbling in the second cubicle from the right then I can assure you it has nothing to do with the malicious laying of fire.

I understand from the forensics team at the scene that due to the extent of the damage caused they had nothing to go on.
