Thug and bouncer crashed through banisters in night club fracas

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a bouncer was injured when he tried to eject a customer from a Benfleet nightspot.

Both men fell about six feet through banisters when the customer pushed the doorman in the face.

The doorman fell to the ground and the attacker landed on top of him before running off.

The doorman, a man in his 40s from Chelmsford, was taken to Southend Hospital and had stitches in a cut forehead.

Investigating officer, Pc Lisa-Ann Gore said: "The two men were struggling on the stairway when the customer threw a punch at the doormen causing him to fall through the banisters. The other man fell on top on him. The doorman was injured in the fall.”

Police have only just released details of the attack which happened on August 12 at 1.15am at La Quinta, in Benfleet Road.

The attacker was white, about 6ft tall, of average build with short grey hair. Anyone with information should call Pc Gore at Rayleigh Area Investigation Team on 101.

Booze doesn't have violence in it - all it does is expose your 'Inner R Soul'. The same drinks are consumed the world over yet violence is not a reliable consequence. Why is that?

Theres always the "Use & Abuse" Side of you guys. You dont mind to "use" the doormen when your out and you love to "abuse" them when your behind a internet connection! Worse thing is this doorman was doing his job! if it was a police officer you would be applauding him.

It actually is a great place to go! I went recently for my friends hen party and had a wicked night. It wasn't just women only either and I saw no trouble.

I hope the bouncer makes a full recovery as they were really friendly when I was there!
