Police carried out searches at the home in Pitsea View Road, Crays Hill
POLICE have launched an investigation after a mother and son, were found dead at their home with gunshot wounds.
Officers went to check the home at Crays Hill, Billericay, on Monday evening following concerns for the welfare of the Maureen Tyler and her son Mark.
They had not been seen for a few days.
When police got into the home they found the pair dead with gunshot wounds.
Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
A spokesman said: "At this time, police are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident, however a detailed forensic examination will be taking place to establish the exact circumstances of both deaths."
Senior Investigating Officer, Det Ch Insp Mark Hall said: "We are investigating the circumstances leading up to the deaths of these two people, who have not been formally identified, but we believe them to be mother and son.
"We believe that they may have been dead for some days and need to speak to anyone who has been in the area of Pitsea View Road recently and has any information that can help us with our enquiries.”

Out of interest, didn't your name have a hyphen in it before? Have you had troube with the Echo's log in? I get it on so many occasions.
Echo - you state Basildon in the headline, and Billericay in the article. Geography fail again.
Finally whatever the circumstances, two people have lost their lives in one of the most violent ways possible. my condolences to any family and friends of each.

Carol - it could have been anything, mother of disabled son unable to cope, family feud turns nasty. but it certainly sounds like what you've described.

People's parents die every day in this country and around the world it don't drive them to something like this. Waste of 2lifes. I am sure they will both be missed by friends and family

If it had been an innocent child killed and not his mother, you would have been singing from a different songbook. As to accusing this neighbour of being as much to blame, that seems rather premature and bigoted given how little we know of the background and actual facts from just this Echo report.
