THE monumental arrival of triplets into a family of six is to be shown on TV tonight.
Channel 4’s One Born Every Minute tells the story of Carolyne Goodall, 42, who gave birth to Indiya, Freyah and Frederik in May.
The tots are now 15 weeks old and keeping their mum and dad Gordon, 43, on their toes.
Their births will feature on a special programme about multiple births.
The episode features the birth in the central delivery suite at Southend Hospital and their subsequent care in the special care baby unit. All three babies weighed more than five pounds when they were delivered by a team of 20 paediatricians, doctors, midwives and nurses.
Gordon, of Woodlands Park, Leigh , said; “We’ve seen an edit of the show, but not the final one. We’re all excited about it, even Carolyne. It’s funny because there’s so much I don’t remember saying. The kids are more excited than Carolyne, but she has been telling friends and putting it on Facebook.”
The Echo covered the story back in May, after Carolyne persuaded Gordon to have just one more child to add to their family of Cameron, 15, Madelayne, 13, Dominick, 11 and Izabella, eight.
But they were astounded when she found out she was pregnant with triplets.
Despite Frederik being admitted to hospital with an infection, life has been hectic but lovely, says Gordon, a company director.
He said: “I can’t tell you how busy it has been, especially with the summer holidays, but the older kids have been fantastic. To start with, we were getting through a box of nappies a day – that’s about 30! “Nappies, milk and wipes have been the biggest expense, but it’s just been lovely.”
l The programme is on at 9pm tonight on Channel 4.
