Join a world record attempt at Basildon Sporting Village
1:11pm Monday 24th September 2012 in News
GET on your bike and into the record books.
Staff and visitors at Basildon Sporting Village, along with other Everyone Active branches across the country, will pedal for 24-hours in a bid to break the world record for the most number of people taking part in 24-hour challenge.
The indoor ride will be held on Friday, September 28 from 3pm and will run overnight until 3pm on Saturday, September 29.
Councillor Kevin Blake, cabinet member for leisure and arts at Basildon Council, said: “I would like to wish the team at the centre all the best in attempting such a unique challenge.
“It’s also a great opportunity for any members of the public who want to also get involved.”
Anyone who wants to join the effort can take part for as long or little time as they want, so whether you only have an hour to spare or five hours, you can do your bit.
If you’re interested in taking part call the fitness suite at the Sporting Village on 01268 722450.
Alternative drop into the centre to sign up.

is the fat burstead counciller going to get on a bike and do a few hours pedalling as well as just wishing thepublic well?
He really could do with it. Might shed a few stone from all that pie eating at council celebratory bunfights.....
