Pedestrian hospitalised after Southend crash

A young pedestrian was hospitalised with facial injuries after a collision with a vehicle this morning.
A 22-year-old man from the local area was taken to Southend Hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Honiton Road, Southend, at 12.35am.
The man is still in hospital receiving treatment.
The make and model of the vehicle are unknown.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Mark Ammon at Laindon road policing unit on 101.

Another case of the 'bystander effect' as no one even made sure he was ok until myself a 19 year old female, went out to aid him. I guess a situation like this has to be noted as a realisation to society that yes, criminals are out there but if there is a young adult moaning and groaning and asking for help you shouldn't just stand and watch.
Had he been more violently injured then he was he could have died from not receiving instant help. The ambulance crew made jokes and a policeman made a correct point that, 'I don't think this is the right time for that' which is the first time I will ever give praise to police.
I hope he's ok and recovers fully, best wishes to him during this time.
