New car park approved for Leigh (From Echo)

BUSINESSES have welcomed the extra customers a new car park will bring into Leigh.

The site of Overtons former car garage in Leigh Broadway is to be transformed into a car park.

The run down site, behind the Grand Hotel, will have parking for 40 cars open from 9am to 7pm.

Sandbar restaurant in The Broadway was pleased with the news.

Manager Gjovan Pacani said: “This is a good thing, it will be good for business, ours and others in the town.”

Great news. Sick of driving up and down the Broadway looking for a space and then only being able to park for an hour.

It's privately owned land - car-park now, block of flats when the economy improves!

What a waste of land. If people weren't so lazy they could walk to the Broadway. Most people just use cars as motorised umbrellas.
