Dial Southend in need of new offices
4:00pm Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
A CHARITY which helps disabled people is in need of help itself.
DIAL Southend faced closure in August until Southend-based medical equipment firm KeyMed pledged £5,000 to the charity to keep them open for a further six months.
Now the organisation, which has diminishing funds, has had to leave its base at SAVS in Alexandra Street as it cannot afford the rent.
Preeti Aggarwal, from DIAL, said: “We’re desperate for another office and are hoping a business or someone can help us find new offices. We’re all volunteers and at the moment we’re out of a job as we have nowhere to work from.
“We still have our drop in session at Southend Library but need a permanent base that is fully accessible for people to visit us.“

In this age of broadband internet and other technologies, can the charity not be run from peoples homes?
