Residents encouraged to recycle more
Basildon Council officers are encouraging residents to become more active when it comes to recycling.
Michael Rider, Basildon street scene enforcement officer, has been talking to residents in the Long Riding, Hockley Road, Chittock Gate and Fairlop Gardens area, and said he has noticed an almost immediate improvement.
He said: “People have been really receptive and eager to learn how they can recycle more. The general impression I’m getting is that people are very happy with the service they are getting from Basildon Council and we are getting the basics right.”
Basildon Council’s street scene team has now started door knocking in the Ghyllgrove area including Honeypot Lane and Whitmore Way.
