Pensioner rescued from house fire

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man in his 80s following a house blaze.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of the home in Beehive Lane, Basildon at 9pm on Tuesday.

Crews wearing breathing gear went into the home and rescued the man.

 

The blaze is believed to have broken out due to a faulty microwave.
