£17,000 benefit cheat fined

A MAN admitted conning more than £17,000 in benefits.
Terry Rogers, 30, of Pomfret Mead, Basildon was given a 10-month jail term, suspended for a year, after conning the cash from Basildon Council over a nearly six year period.
