TAYA Tredwell is a real high flier - or at least her balloon was.

Taya, six, from Grays, is the winner of this year's annual Coalhouse Fort balloon race.

She released her balloon from the roof of the fort on a snowy cold Easter Sunday and it ended up 350 miles away in Burgundy, France.

The surprised fort staff received an e-mail confirming its journey.

As well as getting some balloons, Taya also received a certificate and £50 of toy vouchers.
