FOOTBALL tricks wizard Mikey Fisher showed off his skills as pupils took part in a spelling competition, aimed at raising awareness of a Hadleigh charity.
Fisher, a professional football freestyler and the star of Goal Movie, presented prizes at the event, held at Hadleigh Hall, in Rectory Road, which raised more than £150 for Hadleigh organisation the Art Ministry.
The charity runs art classes to provide therapy for people with disabilities.
Kingston Primary School, Thundersley, came top in the spelling competition, with 26 points, followed by Hadleigh Junior School with 23 points and Montgomerie County Junior School, Thundersley, with 21 points.
The footballer presented Kingston primary with the Choice Cup, sponsored by Choice Discount Stores.
Raffle prizes included Southend United tickets and Adventure Island wristbands .
The day was such a success that the charity plans to expand the competition next year and invite more schools to take part.
Heats will be held in January before another grand final later in the year, when Kingston will be defending its title.
Organiser and charity treasurer Kevin Robson said: "It went extremely well. It was a close competition conducted in a friendly spirit.
"We are very excited about the event and hope that next year's event will be even more spectacular and enjoyable."
