SCHOOLCHILDREN had a fruitful morning when they helped plant 100 cherry trees at Canvey Heights Country Park.

More than 90 pupils from Leigh Beck Junior School took part in the planting, organised by Castle Point Council.

The trees were provided by eForests, a charity that works to combat climate change.

Peter Burch, councillor responsible for recreation, said: "The children did an excellent job."

Canvey Heights? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? All a waste of time anyway as the kids will soon destroy the trees.

"The truth hurts"
What the hell is wrong with you?
If everybody had your pig-ignorant opinion then we would get nowhere in life. So go and crawl back under the dirty little rock it was that you came from.

Are you saying my posting is untrue Alan? You obviously dont live on Canvey then so you can go and crawl back under the rock you came from. Tw@t.

Hello hello...the bog dwellers are revolting. No contradictions there then.

Another day, another comment from the "we live in Benfleet, we're posh" brigade.

The fact is that Benfleet is no better or no worse than Canvey.

Canvey has some dumps so does Benfleet. Canvey has yobbos and feral kids, it also has good people and great kids. Benfleet has the same.

I seem to remember reading that the refurbished park in Benfleet has been plagued with teenage yobs. No doubt the one on Canvey has the same problem.

The sooner we stop these petty little posts on here the sooner we can discuss the real issues.

Well done to the kids from Leigh Beck by the way!

I'm sorry, you're right.

It wasn't a waste of time.

I understand the kids who planted the trees are being asked to keep an ey on the trees too.

So, clearly that will educate a generation to appreciate trees and hopefully they'll also pass that good will onto their peers.
