Jewellery, cash and personal documents have been stolen during a distraction burglary.
A man knocked at an address in Labworth Road, Canvey and claimed to the victim, a man in his 80s, that he was due to complete work to a garden fence.
While the victim was distracted in his garden, a second man has entered and has taken cash, jewellery and personal documents before they both left in a while car – believed to be a white Vauxhall Corsa.
Witnesses also reported that a suspicious white Ford Transit van was also in the area at the time of the incident.
The suspect who knocked at his door has been described as being aged in his 40s, of a heavy build and was wearing a red cap and was clean shaven. The other suspect was not seen by the victim.
