A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing from a Royal Mail cart.
The suspected theft happened yesterday morning in Westcliff and police were quick to apprehend the suspect after he tried to escape from officers.
PC James Brewer, a Southend police officer, tweeted: “We believe this young man stole from a Royal Mail post trolley.
“He wasn’t banking on nine officers pursuing him across the Cliffs and surrounding roads.”
The suspect is in custody.
