The police commissioner for Essex has announced a meeting will be held next year.

Roger Hirst, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, is holding a public meeting in the Jubilee Room at the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend on Tuesday January 23.

Mr Hirst has invited residents who have an interest in police matters throughout communities in South Essex to attend the meeting and make their thoughts known.

He said: “I welcome the opportunity to meet with local residents and I urge everyone who wants to have their say on community safety issues in the area to come along.”

The meeting will be discussing a range of current trends that are happening in crime across the county currently.

Ongoing operations being run by police will also be discussed.

A panel of community safety leaders which will include Mr Hirst, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner Jane Gardner plus representatives from Southend Police’s Command Team, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and the local Community Safety Partnership will also be speaking at the meeting.
