Police rushed to the scene of a reported stabbing in a Basildon housing estate.
It has been reported that three police cars were seen at Winifred Road, Pitsea, at 7.30pm last night.
It has been suggested that the incident is a stabbing.
Winifred Road is on the Chalvedon Estate; it is near to Northlands School and also Basildon Upper Academy.
When they arrived, police conducted house to house enquiries, asking residents if they had seen anything that could be connected to the incident.
When the incident took place, the Essex Police Control Room confirmed that an incident was ongoing, however, no more details could be given.
A man was taken to hospital after the incident, his injuries are believed to be "minor" according to Essex Police.
Following the incident, an Essex Police spokesman, said: "We were called to Winifred Road, Basildon at around 6.10pm yesterday, with reports that a person had been stabbed.
"A man was taken to hospital with injuries believed to be minor.
"Officers conducted house to house enquiries.
"No arrests have been made.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
