I can’t understand why the powers that be in Government and the local authorities, allow such an expansion of Southend Airport, especially when it comes to heavy freight aircraft of a night.
Common sense should prevail and heavy aircraft should not be allowed at all from the airport.
Yesterday a heavy aeroplane went over my home in Rayleigh, which is situated about half a mile from the A127 at Rayleigh Weir, between 11 to 12 o'clock.
The aircraft was very low and the sound was tremendous, so much so that it rattled doors and windows and lasted a good ten to 14 seconds.
It’s enough during the daytime, but this would be much worse in the night.
