We are concerned at the rumour the former Alldays in Hockley is to be turned into a funeral parlour.
With one funeral parlour already, there is hardly a need for another. Already the joke is going around that it will make us the dead centre of Hockley.
Would it not be better to turn it into a covered market, where smallholders could have goods for sale without the need to remove them at closing time, as is the case at Rayleigh?
It seems Hockley is getting the nasty end of the stick again, and it would be nice to see the same amount of money spent in Hockley as in Rochford, or have they forgotten we pay council tax too?
