The recent application for extended hours for the Besafe Laundry, in Prince Avenue, Westcliff, was been turned down because, in the words of the chairman of Southend’s development control committee, the extra hours would not be in the best interest of the local residents.
Does he really think this makes sense? The building is the first directly under the new extension of the airport runway.
Surely this is more pertinent to the residents than a few more vans. The extension of the runway will give them noise for about 18 hours a day!
I know what I would choose. A few more vans or hundreds of extra planes a year? What is the hidden agenda?
