War-time bomb exploded

A WARTIME bomb was exploded on Chalkwell beach after it was discovered by a bait digger.

Bomb disposal teams were called out and exploded the 25 inch shell at 5.42pm today.

That's the second bomb in just over two months - and to think I played on the beach there almost every summers day when I was a child. I wonder if there are any more?!

I saw these guys hanging about...the words 'bomb disposal' always seem to catch my eye for some reason!!!

Exspect more of the same! The tide & time will be uncovering more in the comeing years. Old soldiers have told me over the years there was a lot of shells & bombs that did-not drop where they should have, (Maplin sands) in WW2.
