A ROBBER who was one of a pair which made off with £5,000 after threatening a bingo hall worker at knifepoint, has been warned to expect jail when he is sentenced next month.

Leeroy Hippolyte, 30, pleaded guilty to robbing Lyn Watts at the Gala Bingo hall, The Broadway, Pitsea, when he appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterday.

A warrant is currently out for the arrest of Linton King, who is wanted in connection with the crime on October 15, 2006.

Adjourning the case for a probation report, Judge Christopher Mitchell warned Hippolyte: "You pleaded guilty to a very serious offence. I am going to order a presentence report and you will come back here on April 14, but it must not be misunderstood. You will go to prison on April 14."

The defendant was released on conditional bail.

His conditions include daily reporting to Plaistow police station, living and sleeping at an address in Carraway Close, Plaistow, and a curfew from 9pm to 6am.

He will return to the court for sentencing on Monday, April 14.
