GIFTED youngsters are looking forward to performing at the Leigh Music Festival, which kicked off yesterday.
The event is held annually at Highlands Methodist Church, in Sutherland Bou-levard, Leigh, where thousands of children are rated on their performances.
On Monday and Tuesday, there will be the wind and brass sections followed by piano on Wednesday and Thursday, strings on May 16 and 17 and singing on May 19 to 22.
This will be topped off by a prizewinners' concert from 7.30pm on Friday, May 23.
Amanda Taylor, one of the organisers, said this was an important event for Leigh, bringing together the best musicians the town has to offer.
Tickets to the final concert cost £5, with a family ticket for four priced at £10. To book call Drusilla Redman on 01702 431120.
