A MAN will stand trial accused of attack in a pub carpark which left a man needing metal plates in his face.
Sean Childs is alleged to have assaulted Christopher Brandt, 20, outside the Woodcutters Arms, Eastwood Road North, Leigh.
He was charged with grevious bodily harm with intent following the incident, which happened at about 11.50pm on May 5.
He is accused of punching Mr Brandt causing injuries which required treatment at Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford.
Mr Brandt had a fracture to his lower jaw at the front and to the wisdom tooth area, which required two plates to be fitted.
Childs, 26, of Eastwood Road North, Leigh, appeared before Southend Magistrates Court where he was bailed on condition he does not contact the alleged victim.
Childs will enter his plea at Basildon Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
