5:38pm Wednesday 7th November 2012 in Local News By Emma Thomas
Detectives are appealing for information following an assault in Rayleigh.
Police were contacted shortly after 2am on Saturday, October 27 following reports that a man had been assaulted outside Linx in the High Street approximately 30 minutes earlier.
Officers arrived and found the 32-year-old local man being treated by paramedics after sustaining a serious facial injury.
He was conveyed to Southend University Hospital and later discharged after initial treatment. He attended Broomfield Hospital later that day where he underwent specialist surgery.
Investigating Officer, Dc Kiri Karlo, said: "There had been a verbal argument between a group of people outside the nightclub and very close to where this assault took place. We’re appealing for witnesses to the assault and the argument to come forward as well as those who were involved in it.”
Detectives have not yet got any descriptions of the man’s attacker.
Anyone with information in connection with this assault is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
