Car fire in Rawreth during the early hours

FIRE crews were called to a fire in Rawreth in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The crew from Rayleigh Weir were called to a car and a van ablaze on the Old Chelmsford Road at 2.25am.

The cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious and police are investigating as both vehicles were totally destroyed.

Leading firefighter Steve Bennett said the crews were at the scene for half an hour and they used two sets of breathing equipement to fight the blaze.

i am no expert but water fed through a hose might have been better...that way they could have reduced the time it took to put out the fire.
