Knife-point robber strikes at Benfleet off licence

A KNIFE-POINT robber struck at a Benfleet off licence.
He went into Arundel Food & Wine Store, in Arundel Road, and threatened staff with a knife.
They demanded money but when staff refused they ran off empty-handed.
It happened at about 9pm on November 7 but an appeal has only just been released by police.
The assailant was wearing a grey hoodie, grey trousers and was carrying a JD sports bag.
Anyone with information in connection with this attempted robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
