Person left homeless after fire in Leigh
7:32pm Thursday 13th December 2012 in Local News
A PERSON has been left homeless after a fire tore through their home.
Firefighters from Rayleigh Weir and Leigh were called to a bungalow in The Fairway in Leigh at around 4:10pm yesterday.
Officers spent two and a half hours tackling the blaze after it broke out under the floorboards of the property.
They were forced to cut away parts of the floor to find the seat of the fire, after the Electricity Board isolated power to damaged cabling underneath.
Using a hose reel and breathing apparatus, they managed to extinguish the blaze by 6:40pm.
A revisit is planned for 8pm to ensure the area remains safe.

Rats then move in, the weather gets cold and the rats move into the surrounding houses and eat the cables .
Not saying this was the cause but its giving massive problem with many properties having there cables eaten through.
