Check for changes to rubbish and recycling collections in Basildon over Christmas
11:49am Monday 17th December 2012 in Local News
BASILDON Council is reminding residents to check for any disruptions to rubbish collections and recycling services over the festive period.
The council is also urging residents to remember that there are many extra items that can be recycled over Christmas.
These items include, cardboard, paper, all cans and plastic bottles.
Councillor John Dornan, cabinet member for environment, said: “This is an extremely busy time of year for our crews but we will do all we can to minimise disruptions – all recycling services also run all over the Christmas period, so you can make the most of your pink sack, orange box and green bin services to recycle more than ever this Christmas.”
To check for disruptions visit www.basildon.gov.uk and click on ‘where I live’.
For a free text message reminder about recycling, text the word pink and your postcode to 82727.
All residents should have received a leaflet about any disruptions to services.
If you have not received one, e-mail recycling@basildon.gov.uk with your address and it will be sent out in the post.
