Amy Childs gives tips to Echo competition winner from Leigh
AMY Childs and her stylist gave fashion tips to an Echo competition winner as she and her best friend spent their £500 winnings at the reality star’s boutique.
The former Towie beauty made a surprise visit to her pop-up shop in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Basildon, just as winner Amy McDonald, 20, and Alice King, 23, both of Leigh, were enjoying their celebrity day prize.
Self-confessed Towie fan Amy, of Mendip Crescent, said: “She walked out the back and Alice said: ‘Look it’s Amy!’ “It was really good.”
Alice, of Cheddar Avenue, said: “We didn’t expect to meet her today. She was really nice. She helped me choose eye lashes.”
Ms Child’s stylist Jade Elliott, who has also clothed Peter Andre, pop group The Saturdays, soap star Michelle Keegan and rugby player Gavin Henson, helped the girls pick out clothes that matched their hair and skin tones.
Amy said: “She grabbed about 100 dresses and gave them to us in the changing room. She helped us put them on and did up the zips.”
The RBS bank clerk settled on three dresses, two jumpers, a pair of jeans and nail varnish while Alice, who has been an extra on Towie, chose two dresses, jewellery, a track suit, perfume and false eye lashes. They also received free goody bags.
A chauffeur picked up and dropped off the pair in a Mercedes E-Class with tinted windows.
After the shopping spree they were treated to a slap up meal at Nandos in the shopping centre.
Amy could not believe it when she got the call saying she had won the Eastgate Shopping Centre and Echo competition by answering a simple question by text last month.
She said: “Alice and I had such bad luck crashing our cars and being so ill I thought it was a prank call.
“We were so excited. Thank you so much to the shopping centre and the Echo, it has been a really, really good day.”
