DAVID Beckham drove himself to Southend Airport in his jet black Bentley Continental, parked up and flew out to Dubai by private jet!

The football icon, 37, went to Abu Dhabi to attend an invitation-only event at the swanky Emirates Palace Marina, sparking rumours of a possible transfer to a Middle East team.

When asked if this was a possibility, Beckham told reporters out there: “We’ll see.”

The footballer, who has huge houses in Sawbridgeworth and Dubai, further fuelled speculation by meeting Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, who attended the same event and is the owner of Manchester City Football Club.

Becks then flew back into Southend Airport the next day, picked up his Bentley – which had been held in a secure area on the site for him – and drove off, having thanked workers and staff at the airport and posed for pictures.

The megastar is the latest celebrity to use Southend Airport.

Excitement mounted as he was spotted passing through the executive handling area of the airport last week.

Alastair Welch, the airport’s managing director, said: “We never discuss any clients using our executive handling facility out of respect for their privacy. Security rules are laid down by the Department for Transport and they do not differentiate between celebrities and other passengers.”

But maybe we will be seeing Becks, wife Victoria and their children again soon. The trip, from so-called Beckingham Palace, Sawbridgeworth, to the airport takes only 40 minutes, making it ideal for the Beckhams.
