Woman disturbs burglars

A WOMAN disturbed a gang of burglars who were trying to break into her home.

She had returned to the house in Bailey Roads, Leigh, to find three men trying to gain entry,

After being disturbed they ran off, at about 1pm on January 8.

They were all aged between 16 and 20. The first was wearing a green hooded top and was carrying a draw string sports bag which is thought to have been green in colour. The second man was wearing a red hooded top and the final man was wearing a navy blue hooded top.

Anyone with information about the attempted burglary is asked to contact Pc Jon Holland at Southend CID on 101.Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Neighbourhood watch complete with nosey curtain twitchers seemed a bit naff many years ago....but could work well today.
