Elderly man camps in his car to catch vandals

AN ELDERLY man has resorted to camping out in his car - after it was repeatedly targeted by vandals.
The victim is at the end of his tether with the yobs who have left a huge dent in his roof, smashed a light and damaged his numberplate.
He has now mounted a 24-hour vigil in Holland Road, Westcliff, to try and catch those responsible red-handed.
He has been braving freezing temperatures and supportive neighbours have been bringing him cups of tea.

Neighbours have been speculating that the attack was motivated by road-rage caused by parking issues in the area.
Cheryl Hindle-Terry, Southend Council’s team leader for the parking, traffic management and road safety team, said: “We are not considering any parking changes in this location. We consulted residents in a large area around Westcliff Station and seafront during 2011 and received a low response.
“Out of the responses we did receive, we did not have a majority in favour of any parking controls.”
Police confirmed that they had received two reports of criminal damage, with the latest being overnight on January 16,and are investigating.
Anyone with information should call Southend police on 101

Well to be honest, fair play to the gentleman. But If i was in his situation, I would either just park it the next road down, and that probably is problem solved. And what is an elderly man going to do to possibly a group of young lads? You see that on the news all the time, people trying to be a hero and land up getting killed, or people trying to be a hero, lay a finger on the suspect, and they land up getting into trouble. Good luck though with your challenge.

That's four weeks since last reported damage , I doubt they are coming back.
I think the man should get in the warm before he makes himself ill. Perhaps he could keep a watch from the window with a camera to catch the culprits.
Wishing the gentleman all the best

Wouldn't it be easier for one of the local residents to erect a camera watching the cars?

Roads such as these with no off street parking for residents, are difficult to guarantee a space and so erecting a camera wouldn't always help. (as you you'll be lucky to get the same space again) I live in a nearby street and had my car keyed along with a few other cars in the same street and thought about putting a camera up but it wouldn't solve the problem its just the mindless vandals that keep getting away that aggravates me. I can't stand there watching my car all day!

With the news that the us is buying billions of bullets and supplying these to every government agency, such as their version of job seekers etc., and the fact they have already supplied enough to kill every US citizen five times over, coupled with the statement that Obama likes the way China handle democracy, perhaps all this lower class misbehaviour is soon to end. Especially when you realise that the leaders of this country have long been the dogs of America!

According to one estimate, just since last spring DHS has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm. That's sufficient firepower to shoot every American about five times. Including illegal immigrants.

To provide some perspective, experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, DHS is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war.
