Thieves target man in mobility scooter

THIEVES targeted a man in a mobility scooter outside a supermarket.

The victim, a man in his seventies, had withdrawn money from the cash machine outside Morrisons, in London Road, Hadleigh, when he was approached by the heartless crooks.

The man and a woman asked him for change.

the man put his wallet and bank cards into his pocket. But unknown to him one of the thieves picked his pocket and removed the wallet containing £30 and cards.

The incident happened at about 12.30pm on Sunday February 3.

The pair, who both had foreign accents, drove off in a blue van.

Anyone who can help should contact PC Dylan Barry at Rayleigh Neighbourhood Crime Team on 101.

Sick. this is not the only crime i have heard of involving foreigners. Are we expected to accept that they are all here legally. Southend is becoming a magnet for them. Are they sending them here from London. We have enough problems of our own. but then this council cannot even keep vandals from damaging lifts and getting rid of drug dealers.

Was stopped outside the store yesterday by some guy who claimed he had broken down at the Woodmans and needed money to get to Southend. Scam? most likely, but it's a sad world when you doubt everyone and don't help.

Well i am not surprised it is so sad but this is the result of the politicians failing to control immigration into this country just letting the scum in from Eastern Europe in, now we have to put up with their POXY MEAT as well for CHRISTS SAKE BRITAIN wake up and stop this NOW.

I agree 100% but tragically it's beyond repair. Millions already in, and mostly from cultures that believe in large families, and believe me they are wasting no time in making large families ! Even if it were possible to reverse this catastrophe, how many people are actually prepared to vote for it ? Even people who vote UKIP are branded as racist, so the prospect of any real change is practically non existent. And... you 'aint seen nothing yet !

It's not just Southend, Jollyboy. Basildon is the same. It's like the United Nations when you walk through the town centre here.

Although I'm very sorry to hear about this man's story this is happening in other areas also. The influx of undesirables will only get worse I'm afraid. My husband and I NEVER use the outside ATM's for this reason. We plan ahead and go inside any bank to use the ATM's which is safer. Also less risk of the ATM being tampered with cloning machines. Please remember to VOTE for UKIP.

Problem is on this Echo site is that there are a few people that are these pathetic do-gooders and they report all posts thas say vote UKIP and then the Echo ban you. Of course we know how to vote because we care and love our country but and it seems ukip is the only people to sort this mad problem out. Also some of these do-gooders class ukip as a racist group. Best not to say vote ukip because u will be classed as a racist. This country has gone mental.

I voted Labour until harold wilson slaughtered this country. I think now the country is finished for the English so who can I vote and I would NOT vote BNP or NF because they are racist. Its gotta be UKIP as no other party are interested in the real people .
