St Oswald’s: On Sunday at St Oswald’s Church, Canon David Bruno gave the first of the Lent sermons based on the “I am” sayings of Jesus. The Rev Charles Ellis will preach at the second sermon this Sunday at 9.30am.
Lent group: A Thornton and Burton Lent Group will meet each Wednesday at 7.30pm. Meetings take place at Westhouse Village Hall on February 27, March 13 and March 27 and at Burton Methodist Church on March 6 and 20. The theme for the meetings is “Jesus through other eyes”.
Coffee morning: A fundraising coffee morning for Westhouse Village Hall will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 10am to noon. Contact Rosemary Hartley on (015242) 42207 for more details. Help and items for sale would be welcome.
