A SOUTHEND dance troupe has grooved its way into the live semi-final of a UK TV talent show.

The 10 dancers who make up Poison have beaten off the competition to line up alongside 29 other acts in the Sky1 hit show Got To Dance.

They will now line up alongside five other dance acts this Sunday in a bid to win the public vote and a spot in the final.

Head dancer Christabelle says the group, who train at Wiggles Dance Studio, on Aviation Way, has been rehearsing for 15 hours a week since progressing to the semi-finals and are in a confident mood heading into the live shows.

She said: “We are very excited and will be giving our all. We only have a minute and a half to show the judges what we have got and if everything comes off then I know we can do a good job and stand a chance.”

Lorraine Field, who runs Wiggles Dance Studio, said: “The girls have worked so hard for this and deserve their recognition. I have seen them grow into a very good dance troupe and I can’t wait to see them perform live.”

The live show can be seen at 6pm this Sunday on Sky1.
