Knife-weilding robber apologised after stealing Iphones from shop

A KNIFE-weilding robber stole thousands of pounds worth of Iphones during a broad daylight raid on a shop...before apologising to staff.

The thug, who covered part of his face with a scarf, entered the Carphone Warehouse in High Street, Southend, at 4pm on Friday before producing a large kitchen knife and demanding the mobile phones.

Members of staff handed over a number of Apple Iphone 5 mobile phones valued at thousands of pounds.

The man then fled the store, but bizarrley apologised for his actions while leaving.

Investigating officer Dc Bob Evans said: "This man had a total disregard for not only the two members of staff who were in the shop at the time but for any members of the public who could have entered the shop at the time of the robbery.”

That's simply not true is it ? If he had a "total disregard" for the staff he would not have apologised.

This on a basic level is why very few people trust the police, even the courts do not trust you, which is why we need trials in the first place.

he's said sorry so let's not waste any taxpayer's money and send him to jail, as long as he's learned his lesson and promises not to do it again.

Should of threw a iphone at him to distract him then the 2 staff members could of over powered him....OR chased him up the high street where 100's of shoppers would have been.
and can these phones be rendered useless if stolen..?

Or just shut themselves in the store room & dropped the shutters trapping him in the shop? May have been a bit easier than expecting a teenage girl to wrestle a knife from a thug perhaps?

I agree with that..... sounds like just read from a script. What does 'total disregard' mean in this context anyway ? If he was prepared to stab someone then i guess that would be 'total disregard', but no one including Bob Evans could really know that......

The villains used to express deep regret and apologise after being found guilty, as they knew the judges would give them a shorter sentence. Maybe the judges have got wise to this scam, so now they are apologising directly to the victims.

If this is the first in a series by the "Sorry Robber" then it might be reasonable to dismiss it as not genuine. It could be a novice not enjoying his first day at work - maybe he'd prefer to steal money from the comfort of a capital city trading room but went to the wrong schools?

Oh dear. Not going the right school has made you not very bright and quite envious hasn't it?
