Woman who turned to crime after husband left her for another man fails to turn up to court

POLICE are hunting a woman who admitted a drug fuelled crime spree after her husband ran off with a man.
Michaela Tothova, 32, was due at Basildon Crown Court yesterday to be sentenced after being convicted of her 24th shop theft since her husband fled to their native Czech Republic with three of their children and his new male lover.
However, she failed to show up in court, and now faces arrest if found by police.
Tothova, of London Road, Westcliff, pleaded guilty to stealing £50 of shampoo and conditioner from the Boots store in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, during an appearance at Southend Magistrates’ Court last month.
She carried out the latest theft after a phone call with her former partner.
The magistrates’ court heard in her defence last month that she took to shoplifting after her life quickly spiralled into a drug addicted hell after her husband left.
The unnamed man has since prevented her having any contact with the children.
After the couple split, he took the children, aged eight, seven and four, back to the Czech Republic where he is living his new partner.
The crown court yesterday issued a warrant for her arrest.
