POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three businesses in Leigh were burgled on Saturday.
The back door of Subway, in the Broadway, was forced open before two safes containing a four figure sum of cash were stolen.
On the same night, thieves broke into Home Made Bakery, in Broadway West, by smashing a door. The safe was tampered with but nothing was stolen.
The third burglary happened at Birdwood Bakery, in Leigh Road, where entry was gained via the back door. A till drawer containing a three figure sum of cash was stolen.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Pc Siobhan Chapman, or her colleagues at Southend, on 101.
