A WOMAN had to be rescued from her car following a crash in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Leigh and Southend were called to Lymington Avenue, Leigh, at around 2am after two vehicles collided.

One of the cars had then smashed into a garden wall.

The female driver had to be safely removed by the firefighters because she was complaining of neck pain.

She was assessed by paramedics before fire crews left the scene shortly after 2.30am.
