A WOMAN has suffered serious injuries after she was car jacked in a quiet residential street.
The woman was driving in Curling Tye in basildon at about 2.30pm this afternoon when she was flagged down by a man claiming there was something in the road.
She got out of her grey Honda CR-V estate car to have a look when the man jumped in to her car.
She grabbed on to the car bonnet but was thrown off and collided with a lampost.
She was taken to Basildon Hospital with serious injuries to her arm and pelvis.
She is in a serious condition.
The suspect was wearing a dark hooded top and dark bottoms.
Any witnesses who have not contact police already are asked to contact detectives at Basildon police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
