A 36-year-old man from Hockley has been charged with GBH following an incident in Hockley on Saturday morning.
Glen Cooper, a warehouseman from Broad Walk, will appear before Southend Magistrates Court this morning.
A 41-year-old man is still in a critical condition a London hospital following the incident.
Ambulance and police crews were called to Broad Walk, Hockley, just before 7am on Saturday morning and found the man unconscious with life-threatening, head injuries.
He was rushed to Southend Hospital just before 8am then transferred to Queen’s Hospital in Romford.
An ambulance spokesperson said: “The man was in a life-threatening condition when he got to hospital.”
