The World Cup was at Shoeburyness High School today as a surprise for a dedicated teacher.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola flew into Southend to begin a week-long celebration around GB.

Southend is the first stop of the seven day 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by
Coca-Cola in Great Britain but it’s a complete surprise for the community; nobody knows that the Trophy is coming.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has been awarded to Southend teacher and StreetGames coach Rachael O’Brien by Coca-Cola for her tireless work in supporting disadvantaged teenagers in the community.

The official FIFA plane landed at Southend Airport ahead of the visit and a Samba performance was held at the school when the cup arrived.
