FOG has led to train delays between Shoebury and Fenchurch Street.
Adverse weather conditions forced trains to run at a reduced speed this morning, causing delays of up to nine minutes on 11 trains until about 7.45am when the fog lifted.
While trains on the line generally run at a speed of 70 miles per hour, this was reduced to between 40 and 50 miles per hour because of reduced visibility.
The 8.50am Aer Arann flight to Dublin from Southend Airport was also cancelled.
