A Man has been charged with attempted murder as part of the investigation into an alleged stabbing in Southchurch Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Anton Copley, 20, of York Road, Southend, was arrested on Tuesday evening and charged with attempted murder last night.
He has been remanded in police custody and will appear in Southend Magistrates Court this morning.
A second Southend man, aged 18, was arrested with Copley but has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The victim, from Rayleigh, suffered a stab wound to the abdominal area at around 2am on Sunday, March 16 outside the Slug and Lettuce bar on Southchurch Road.
