CURIOUS residents will be able to glimpse the hidden Foulness Island as part of new guided tours.

Rochford District Council, in partnership with the Foulness Conservation and Archaeological Society (FCAS), are offering the chance to go on a tour of Foulness Island.

People will be given the chance to glimpse some of the wildlife that inhabits the island and it also offers the opportunity to learn about the development of the island as a coastal habitat, how it has been recovered from the sea, farming, natural history and other points of interest.

You can choose from two dates: Wednesday, 11 June or Wednesday, 25 June 2014 from 6.30pm.

The guided tour will be by tractor/trailer.

Tickets cost £17 per person with proceeds going to the Chairman of Rochford District Council’s chosen charities.
