SCHOOLCHILDREN have been told the Easter story by people playing characters from the Bible at St Nicholas Church, Laindon.

Church volunteers took on roles including Judas, high priest Caiaphas, disciple Peter, Pontious Pilate, and Mary Magdalene to tell the story yesterday at the church, on Church Hill.

Pupils from Millhouse Junior Laindon Park Primary and James Hornsby schools all went along for the session.

The Rev Diane Ricketts said: “This is the first time we have done something like this. The Christmas story is well known, but when speaking to people, I find a lot don’t really know what Easter is about.

“We thought we would do this for the youngsters.

Now they known why we have eggs at Easter.”

I'm surprised a certain secion of our community isn't in 'uproar' about this, nevermind...

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you sad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

Would you rather a extreme Islamic agenda be forced on them then?

I wonder if you have ever made the same type of comment about those who insist that children learn about other religions, such as Judaism, Islam, Hinduism etc. This is not propaganda, it is nothing more than a group of believers stating a story which has been told the same way for around 20 centuries. You yourself are the one stating propaganda.

What on earth are you on about?

Why is it the only possible alternative.

Argue.

Don't make statements you can't back up with facts.

It was sarcasm. I really didn't think I'd have to explain that, however I'll make an exception

Why would they have an extreme Islamic agenda forced upon them?
