POLICE want to speak to this man after the theft of petrol by a motorist driving with stolen plates drove.

A man filled a black Vauxhall Astra with £58 of unleaded petrol at the Tesco Extra filling station at Hazelmere and drove off with paying.

The car is believed to have been be fitted with stolen number plates and officers have now issued CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at about 4.50pm on March 23.

Anyone who can identify the man or the car should contact PC Paula Hopkins at the Basildon Retail Crime Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
